Vintage Notions Shadow Box collages –
Make a beautiful framed collage with choice of vintage notions – or bring your own cherished notions to use.
You will combine these fun & Unique notions with a background of stitching and trims
Size choose will be 8 x 8 or 12 x 12 frame. Frames must be shadow box depth to allow for notions. Frames are provided.

* pattern layout and instructions tips
* cutting marking and more
You will select and bring a pattern to sew based on your skill set. Wait to purchase pattern until after first class.
Fabric selection can be from our stash or bring your own.
Then construct your garment with step by step mentor ship by instructors.
This class contains students at different levels of sewing skills. This allows you to see many different types of garment construction - learning from each others challenges.
This course is NOT a job skills certification course but give you complete information to be successful with garment sewing.

Hard Hat Fundraiser - DREAM. SEW. BIG - December 7th, 2019 From 2-4 pm
What: a progressive Hard Hat Tour & Capital Campaign Kick-off.
Please join us to begin the tour @ 1305 E 27th Street (The current location of TSL)

Sewing Machine Clean Up Do you have a sewing machine that needs cleaning and you don't know where to start? Bring your machine to learn the basics of cleaning & maintenance of your machine
or are you a Volunteers or community members that wants to help clean the TSL machines?
Your help is needed to clean up the sewing machines that are donated so that we can re-gift them.
You do not need to know how to repair a machine, but it sometimes gets a little dirty.

Pillowcase Project – The Sewing Labs is committed to prove & share that the Legacy of Sewing is a benefit to the community at large. And as part of this effort each years the students, staff and volunteers of TSL make pillowcases to be gifted to local nursing homes – you are welcome to come join in the sewing or pick up a pack to take home to make. Instructions & all supplies provided. FREE

This class is for first time sewing machine owners or someone who needs a refresher course. Learn the features of your sewing machine, how they work and what is their purpose. Learn sewing machine maintenance and proper selection of needles & thread.
Bring your machine and all its accessories & tools Workbook included. (Part of Phase 1 certification)

Join us to finish our community service project of over 300 pillow cases going to local Senior Centers.
Take time this holiday season to give back.. You are welcome to join our group of volunteers and sewist to delivery the pillow cases that were made to the residents. Just a little Christmas cheer where is it needed most!

We want you to volunteer at The Sewing Labs!
This is a one session orientation training which will give you an overview of the mission of The Sewing Labs and how you can serve as a volunteer.
Orientation will cover;the mission of TSL, the opportunities for volunteers from the classroom to community to boardroom, rules of operation and safety precautions for everyone in the program and more. We want you to do what you heart & hands love.
Even if you are just interested in finding out more before deciding to volunteer this is a great opportunity to explore what The Sewing Labs is all about.
All of our volunteers are expected to go thru an orientation within the first 90 days of service Pre-registration is requested.
