Serger Workshop - Serger Basics - Learn how to use a serger.
Bring your own serger to add to your skills or use ours
This class covers basic serger sewing. Proper Threading and maintenance, thread tension and understanding serger features. Participants of this class will create a workbook with samples of stitches, mastering curves on your serger, creating special hems and more.

Do you have too many T-shirts laying around? Do you have someone with Tshirts from special events that you would like to create a remembrance quilt for them? You will learn seams and seam finishes and then apply this to simple projects.
Learn hems types while making an apron
Learn zipper basics and finally learn buttonholes, hook and snap closures.

Need a little help with a sewing project? Embarking out into uncharted sewing territory and want some support? Join the Independent Projects Lab! Come work on your own project in a supportive group and under the guidance of a professional sewist. Bring your own pattern and fabric and let’s get sewing!

The Projects Labs allows you to work on your own sewing projects under the mentoring of a professional sewist.
Pre-requisite - Basic Sewing skills and knowledge required - this is not a fundamentals skills class - this class allows you to take your skills and expand your sewing projects.
Participants sign up for 1 session or a block of 6 sessions at a time. ( this is the average time required to complete a garment )
Fee $25 per sesson or 6 sessions for $ 145
You can continue to add more blocks of time as needed.
Since this is an Independent Project Labs - you can start any week.
Open Stitch Fridays - This is a time for you to come together to stitch. Bring your own projects of sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery, other fiber arts to work on. You can use our stash, our domestic sewing machines, tools etc. NO instruction is offered but, there just might be someone else in the room to ask.

Learn the sewing vocabulary terms and make samples of these fundamental elements for future reference.

Have you always wanted to know the secret to making a T-shirt quilt?
Do you have too many T-shirts laying around? Do you have someone with Tshirts from special events that you would like to create a remembrance quilt for them? Gather 16 - 20 T-shirts and we will teach you the tricks to using them to make a quilt. We want you to finish your project so class consists up to 8 - 2 hours sessions. Need a little help with a sewing project? Embarking out into uncharted sewing territory and want some support? Join the Independent Projects Lab! Come work on your own project in a supportive group and under the guidance of a professional sewist. Bring your own pattern and fabric and let’s get sewing!

The Projects Labs allows you to work on your own sewing projects under the mentoring of a professional sewist.
Pre-requisite - Basic Sewing skills and knowledge required - this is not a fundamentals skills class - this class allows you to take your skills and expand your sewing projects.
Participants sign up for 1 session or a block of 6 sessions at a time. ( this is the average time required to complete a garment )
Fee $25 per sesson or 6 sessions for $ 145
You can continue to add more blocks of time as needed.
Since this is an Independent Project Labs - you can start any week.
Open Stitch Fridays - This is a time for you to come together to stitch. Bring your own projects of sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery, other fiber arts to work on. You can use our stash, our domestic sewing machines, tools etc. NO instruction is offered but, there just might be someone else in the room to ask.
Domestic Machines are available - NO Industrial machines offered.

SEW POWERFUL PURSE taught by Chris McMullen – Sew Powerful, a non-profit organization, asks seamstresses from around the world to make and donate a purse for a schoolgirl in Zambia. The purse is filled with re-usable feminine hygiene supplies made by those employed in Zambia by Sew Powerful. The girl receives the purse and supplies in her health training class to enable her to attend school all month and improve her academic performance. With Chris' instruction, you will learn to sew the cross-body purse from the free pattern provided by Sew Powerful. Your bag created will be donated to Sew Powerful! You will learn the skills to make this bag and you can contribute to this wonderful organization by helping them achieve their 2022 goal of collecting and distributing 24,000 purses. All materials included.
