T-shirts quilts make great gifts for graduations, college or just for fun. Gather 20 T-shirts and we will teach you the tricks to using them to make a quilt. We want you to finish your project so class consists up to 8 - 2 hours sessions. Class fee $80 which includes the special interfacing needed. Additional materials needed for your borders & backing.

This course covers using patterns--from proper size & fabric selection to layout to construction. It also covers fabric definitions, interfacings, collars & facings, pockets and more. Students will start and finish a basic garment with some of these features. This is a 4-week class.

This course is for sewist wanting to earn a certification or refresh their skills. Learn seam and hem finishes, hand stitching, closures; including 4 zipper applications, hook, snaps, elastics and textile basics. the student will create a sample book for future reference. This course includes 6 wks of instruction with weekly homework. For certification, testing is required at the end of course. Phase 1 is prerequisite for this class or test out. Reference book included Course Fee $150

Celebrate Earth Day @ The Sewing Labs - create a unique Collage Shirt - using recycled T-shirts & button up shirts. Find a T-shirt with your favorite character or sport and then you will applique it onto a woven shirt. Then add paint, stencil, and more embellishment to make it your own. You will need to provide your own T-shirt & woven shirt, we will supply the rest. A great project for you and your friends and a great opportunity to save more item from the landfill. The workshop is 4 hours so we will have snacks and drink. Fees cover all paints, embellishments and more. $ 25.00

SEW-full STitcher is our community projects - 4th Tuesday of the Month @ 10-12 or 4-6, we work on one of our community projects. You will be provided with the quarterly project selection, materials, and a pattern if needed. Community projects are an item that we are making to donate to a local shelter or group such as; pillowcases, quilts, socks, etc. You can work on them at the Lab during open sew or take home to work on. Then quarterly there is a Rally Day - to bring us together to gather the finished items for distribution - Sewing it Forward!!

We want you to volunteer at The Sewing Labs! All of our volunteers are expected to go thru an orientation. This is a one session orientation training which will give you the tools and insights on how to be the best volunteer you want to be. Orientation will cover; opportunities for volunteer, rules of operation and safety precautions for everyone in the program and more. Pre-registration is required. Even if you are just interested in finding out more before deciding to volunteer this is a great opportunity to explore what The Sewing Labs is.
