Walking Foot Quilting – June 18th & July 2nd – Learn the art and technique of using a walking foot & your domestic sewing machine to quilt your quilt. Recognized quilt speaker – Jane Bromberg will walk you thru her tips and tricks to create fun & graphic stitch design with this technique. You will create a sample library for future reference. All materials provided 2 – 2 hr. session $40

Intro to Garments - Learn to sew with commercial patterns.
Class covers;
* pattern & fabric selection
* proper garment sizing
* pattern layout and instructions tips
* cutting marking and more.
You will select and bring a simple pattern to sew. Wait to purchase pattern until after first class.
Then fabric selection can be from our stash or bring your own.
Then construct your garment with step by step observation. This class contains students at different levels of sewing skills. This allows you to see many different types of garment construction - learning from each others challenges.
Course consists of 6 - 2 hr session

Learn how to Operate your sewing machine. Bring your machine, or use one of ours. This class will take you thru the basic operations of the sewing machine, how to use the accessories, tools and feet that came with your machine. You will learn how to thread the machine, wind the bobbin, stitch selection and adjustments of stitch width & length. You will also learn the importance of proper thread and needles for the best performance. Tips & Tricks to Machine maintenance and cleaning. Bring your machine, all accessories included and it's book. This class is 1 session 2-3 hours.

Join us the 4th annual Gratitude & Grace Quilt Retreat with The Sewing Labs. The retreat starts on Friday evening @ 6 pm, then Saturday 8 am - 8 pm and Sunday 8 am - 2 pm. A listing of local hotels is available if you do not want to travel home each night. This year the quilt pattern selected is by Amy Friend called Interlock. We combined jelly roll fabrics with a solid colored background. You will have a selection of fabrics to choose from. You will work to complete your quilt top during the retreat. Also, there will be a special trunk show of a quilt artist to inspire you. There are fun prizes for all participants during the retreat. Again this year you will have the opportunity to "shop" a special selection of fabrics and vintage finds. This is a fun weekend to meet new friends, do some quilting and just get away from your normal distraction. You will also be treated to good food. Meals - Friday night - light hors d'oeuvres, Saturday - breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Sunday; breakfast and lunch. We will also take time to pause for Gratitude. Total cost of retreat is $225.
