SUL- Sewing as a Universal Language – this is a multi-lingual class with a partnership of Don Bosco. Registration must be made thru Don Bosco Senior Center.
Students will earn a certificate for completing Phase 1 classes - consisting of 10 weeks of lessons and projects. Testing is required to earn a certification.

Garments & Garments - Learn to sew with commercial patterns. Participants sign up for a 6 week block of classes (if you miss a week you can make them up). Re sign up for as many 6 week blocks as you want as you continue to grow your skills..
Class covers;
* pattern & fabric selection
* proper garment sizing
* pattern layout and instructions tips
* cutting marking and more
You will select and bring a pattern to sew based on your skill set. Wait to purchase pattern until after first class.
Fabric selection can be from our stash or bring your own.
Then construct your garment with step by step mentor ship by instructors.
This class contains students at different levels of sewing skills. This allows you to see many different types of garment construction - learning from each others challenges.
This course is NOT a job skills certification course but give you complete information to be successful with garment sewing.

Phase 2 part 2 is a continuation of our Certification and Fundamentals course. This course covers the elements of garments such as textiles, darts & gathers, collars & cuffs, lining & interfacing, Waistbands, sleeves and more. Each week you will master different garment components making simple samples for your reference library.
Home work is required.

The Sewing Labs teaches sewing for production. Are you interested in learning to sew in order to produce a line of products or you want a job in sewing manufacturing and you need to build your skills. In the Sewing Labs - Sewing Salon program you will learn the art of sewing while working on "live" projects. Start as a beginner sewists or come with the skills you have - we will be your teach/mentor to guide you to successful sewing.
All sewist to be considered will either go thru our training or have to test out for skills. Interview & sewing tests available monthly.

Go Green by using your sewing skills to reduce waste throughout your home! This class will focus on creating a set of Un-Paper Towels, great for replacing disposable paper products in your kitchen! The towels are made with terry cloth and cotton to be absorbent and stylish, and they snap together for rolling up on an old paper towel tube. We will use sergers and snap setters to create this project. Color of terry will be white or off white - subject to supply on hand Backing fabrics will be chosen from our stash or bring your own - 1 yd. needed. All materials and snaps included to make 8 towels
Additional green sewing projects are in the works for future dates!
