Introduction to Garments: Elevating Your Sewing Skills to Garment Construction
In this course, we transition from Basic Sewing to the exciting realm of garment construction. You'll dive into understanding garment elements and construction, including patterns, various fabric and fiber types. Decode sewing terminology and enhance your skills by creating samples of facings, linings, curved seams, corners, darts, tucks, and gathers. Additionally, you'll master the correct method of garment cutting while creating a simple top. This class involves significant hands-on sewing and assigned sewing homework to ensure your proficiency.

Open Sew Fridays is a dedicated time for fellow sewing enthusiasts to gather and work on their respective projects. Whether you're into sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery, or any other fiber arts involving sewing, you're welcome to bring your ongoing projects.
Feel free to utilize our stash, domestic sewing machines, and various tools available on-site. While this is a creative communal space, please note that no formal instruction is provided during this event. However, you may find fellow attendees who can offer assistance or guidance.

Longarm Quilt Machine Operation Training covers instruction on operating either the Gammill Statler Stitcher or the Gammill Classic Stitch Regulated Free Motion machine. Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for renting our machines.
During the training, you'll be instructed on the following:
How to prepare your quilt
Preparing the machine
Loading your quilt
Utilizing the Gammill Statler Stitcher CAD system
Operating the Gammill Classic Stitch Regulated machine with manual control
Unloading your quilt
Tips, tricks, and valuable recommendations

Basic Sewing - Phase 1: A Course for Beginners and Refreshers
Whether you're brand new to sewing or seeking a refresher, our Basic Sewing - Phase 1 course is tailored just for you. Gain hands-on experience operating a domestic sewing machine, covering essential skills such as threading, basic operation, safety, and maintenance. Explore the tools of the trade and more as you create simple projects and a handy tool caddy. Each week, you'll acquire a new skill and receive practice work to complete at home.
All necessary materials and supplies are included in this course. You're welcome to use our provided machines and tools or bring your own to enhance your learning experience.
