This class will introduce you to the Fun of Sewing. Learn to read a pattern, choose fabrics & notions for success. Start your sewing by constructing a simple garment. The instructor will help you to select your fabrics & notions & pattern during the first class. The Sewing Labs supplies all the fabrics & notions needed for your project from our "in-kind" inventory. But, you are welcome to bring in your own fabrics, notions & sewing machines. Proper Threading and maintenance, thread tension and understanding serger features. Participants of this class will create a workbook with samples of stitches, mastering curves on your serger, creating special hems and more.
Quilt Beginnings - learn the elements of a quilt - fabric selection - including "focus fabric" and color theory , cutting & piecing - tools and methods, quilting and finishing- batting & bindings. Learn these while making a simple table runner. This class is 4 - 2hr sessions with some homework (you can use our machines during open sew) This is a great class for beginner and anyone wanting to refresh their skills. Fee $80 - materials included.

Just SEWcial is an open format. Come to hang out at The Sewing Labs. Sew or socialize. Bring your friends - the Lab and all its tools and equipment & supplies are available for you. There is no instruction during the social hours. But, it's a great opportunity to make a project, get caught up on a project or to simply gather with others. No registration is required.

This is a great class for your prayer group, or women friends to do together. Class session Saturday June 24th 9 am - 12pm. Unity of Independence has partnered with The Sewing Labs to help us to build the kits for our classes. Monthly, the group gathers together to build the kits needed for the Sewing Labs. We enjoy fellowship while supporting each other. You are welcome to join us to build the kits after the morning services. Advance registration is suggested

Make one in class and then make many - great for gift giving and a great way to use up your fabric scraps. Kids Camp - Open to ages 6-12 and beyond (under 8 welcomes with an adult helper) Kids will learn the fun of creating while making projects inspired by a unicorn, rainbows, and trolls. They will sew, glue, paint and stuff and more to make a different project each week. Sign up for 1 @ $10 or all 4 for $35. Session 6/29 - Emoji, Unicorn or troll pillows, 7/6 - dream catcher circle weaving, 7/13 - rain sticks & sparkle slim & 7/20 - treasure pouches with troll rocks. Volunteers welcomed
