Intro to Garments - this course is for the sewist wanting to refresh their skills and is also a part of our certification program. Discover the world of sewing with patterns. This class covers body measurements & sizing. Pattern selection. Learn to use the pattern for proper fabric selection, interfacings, notions and more. Learn to use the pattern for layout & cutting, marking, and construction. Complete a basic top including facings, darts, and hems during the course. For certification, home worksheets are required & final project will be graded. You will also create samples for future reference. Material & patterns may need to be purchased. Course 2 hr per week, 6 weeks. (no calss will be held on 7/26) Cost $150.

SEW-full Stitcher is our community projects - we work on one of our community projects. You will be provided with the quarterly project selection, materials, and a pattern if needed. Community projects are an item that we are making to donate to a local shelter or group such as; pillowcases, quilts, socks, etc. You can work on them at the Lab during open sew or take home to work on. Then quarterly there is a Rally Day - to bring us together to gather the finished items for distribution - Sewing it Forward!!

We want you to volunteer at The Sewing Labs! All of our volunteers are expected to go thru an orientation. This is a one session orientation training which will give you the tools and insights on how to be the best volunteer you want to be. Orientation will cover; opportunities for volunteer, rules of operation and safety precautions for everyone in the program and more. Pre-registration is required. Even if you are just interested in finding out more before deciding to volunteer this is a great opportunity to explore what The Sewing Labs is.
