2022 Make’n HERstory
The Sewing Labs proudly presents, Make’n HERstory, a celebration of women who use their creative muse to make a living and a life. We are excited to come together again for a "Makers Conference" and an evening "Gala" celebrating our community.
Make'n HERstory is a two-day signature event and fundraiser in support of The Sewing Labs. This event consists of a makers conference to be held on June 4th, 2022 at the Winnetonka High School Auditorium from 9-5 pm and a Friday night Gala to be held on June 10th, 2022 at 28 Event Space from 6:30 - 9:30 pm.
Our 2022 Keynote for the June 4th Makers Conference will be Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Company. In addition to Jenny you will experience a Speakers Panel including: Tamara Day of Growing Days & Magnolia Network - Home Improvement Celebrity of Bargain Mansions with Benay Shannon of Restless Spirit, the1st & only women Distiller in Missouri, Nataliya Lucia Meyer of Lucia's Sarto a Ukraine evening wear designer and Whitney Manney of Whitney Manney streetwear designs. Breakout makers will share their wares and there will be shopping by The Strawberry Swing and lunch is available from Thelma's Kitchen. You will also be invited to participate in the online Silent Auction, hosted on Gala Bid. We have curated a collection of unique gifts, experiences and services for your home and hobbies including jewelry, sports, maker items, food & drink, gift cards and more. The silent auction will run from June 4th through June 10th, 2022.
Our 2022 Make'n HERstory Gala will be an evening of cocktails and music following with a dinner buffet held June 10th. Our 2022 Honorary Co Chairpersons are Monica Dahl of Arvest Bank and Kelly Wilson of Weave Gotcha Covered President & Co-Founder, Sacred Stitches CEO, The Sewing Labs Co-Founder. Hear inspirational stories from the students and teachers of The Sewing Labs programs and understand how our mission supports these individuals toward employment and emotional & financial dignity. You will be invited to participate in a LIVE auction featuring selected gifts, experiences, products, services and more. There will be an appeal for your dedication and support to the students and programs of The Sewing Labs. Dress is Creative Cocktail attire. This is an intimate affair and so the space is limited.
