Scholarships at The Sewing Labs

The Sewing Labs offers sewing related classes and workshops in sewing, quilting and beyond to expand learning in the Legacy of Sewing. Our scholarship fund aims to support individuals from diverse backgrounds in pursuing their educational goals. We believe in providing opportunities to those facing various challenges and barriers to education. Our goal is to foster inclusivity and empower all aspiring students to achieve their full potential. Our mission is to carry forward the spirit of empowerment championed by our founders, by offering financial assistance to those seeking education and training in sewing, textiles, and related fields. Through this scholarship, we aim to remove financial barriers and enable individuals from diverse backgrounds to access quality education and thrive in the textile industry. Through the generosity of our supporters, The Sewing Labs can offer a limited number of partial and full scholarships to programs and events. If you are in need of a scholarship, submit this form. 

TSL wants everyone to have an opportunity to participate in our programs. Limited scholarships may be available for all classes/events. 

Please submit a completed form 2-4 weeks prior to the course start date for consideration.  

Please note - filling out this application does not guarantee scholarship assistance. 


Eligibility Requirements:

1. Applicants from backgrounds facing heightened challenges or vulnerabilities will be given preference.  

2. Applicants must specify what course they wish to apply the scholarship to.  

4. Applicants must provide evidence of financial need, such as proof of income, eligibility for financial aid, or a statement of financial hardship.  

5. Applicants may apply for a scholarship once every 6 months. Awardees must maintain regular attendance and satisfactory course progress to be considered eligible for future scholarships.
