Athyna Nguyen

Prior to joining The Sewing Labs, Athyna Nguyen got her start in sewing as a men’s suiting specialist.

She had the knowledge of how to mark and measure but had never touched a sewing machine before finding the Sewing Salon Training Program.

After completing the 30-week training program, she stuck around as a teaching assistant to her Mentor Drew Daly.

It wasn’t long before The Sewing Labs brought Athyna on as a Longarm Quilting Machine Operator and thus continues her apprenticeship journey to earning her Industrial Sewing Certification.

Outside of the Sewing Labs, Athyna is a Social Worker with a BSW from Missouri Western State University.

She assists members of the community experiencing chronic mental illness find and keep stable housing and health services.
