Karen Sullivan

Karen Sullivan is the creative force behind Sully’s Upcycled, a Kansas City-based brand dedicated to giving preloved textiles a second life.

Since launching her business in 2014, Karen has transformed discarded sweaters, fabric scraps, and other rescued materials into imaginative, one-of-a-kind garments, accessories, and soft goods.

Karen believes creativity and sustainability belong together.

She is passionate about helping others see the possibilities in materials that might otherwise be discarded and finds inspiration in watching makers turn them into something beautiful, functional, and entirely unique.

Through her classes at The Sewing Labs, Karen creates a welcoming space for students to experiment, build practical skills, and discover the joy of sustainable sewing.
